Our Story...

There was never a question of which degree plan was best for Jack... His passion was construction engineering from the get go!  After graduating from Texas Tech with his bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, he hit the ground running as a superintendent for a large homebuilder. He was quickly promoted to a Project Manager with an amazing record of zero punch items at completion of project. This is very rare in the builder business and a true testimony to Jacks character and work ethic.  Jack believes in doing it right once, and only once.  The builders Jack worked for believed he had what it takes to be a successful custom builder and encouraged him to take the leap and start his own business!

Dabney Homes was established in 1991.  Jack built his first spec home and sold it in record time, this spec also resulted in several custom builds. Over the last 25 years, Dabney Homes has built over 100 homes and serviced clientele in Austin, Dripping Springs, Lake LBJ, and most recently, San Antonio.

Jack resides in San Antonio with his wife Dy Lynne Dabney, a well-known local designer. A match made in Heaven for both parties!  Dabney Homes has complete access to all design matters thru Dy Lynne Decor. The couple live and breathe all things design!  Enjoying their lives in the quaint Alamo Heights neighborhood in San Antonio, the couple is active in their church community, animal charities and enjoying walking and cycling throughout their beloved neighborhood.

Pearson Dabney Project Manager

Following in his father’s footsteps, Pearson pursued a Construction Science and Management Degree from Tarleton State University, where he achieved the valedictorian of his class. However his start in construction began long ago working alongside Jack every summer for as long as he can remember. In the summer of 2017, Pearson met his high school sweatheart Meg and they married in the summer of 2020. Pearson and Meg love the country life, living in Boerne with their daughter Merrit, two GSP’s, and 20 chickens. Although building is Pearson’s passion, in his spare time he also enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, and any other outdoor activity you can think of. You can almost always find him taking a long evening walk with his wife, daughter and two pups.
